We have chosen the sports engineering hub for a number of reasons. The central location of the Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub offers easy access to major transport networks, making it convenient for our suppliers and customers to visit our premises and test ride our bikes. Additionally, the centre’s location makes it an attractive destination for visitors with a range of accommodation options nearby and plenty of attractions in the surrounding area.
The sports engineering hub itself is a hive of cycling activity, we share the centre with a world class wind tunnel facility specifically designed for testing bikes and their aerodynamic efficiency. The Hub is also developing three new mechanical test rigs in the form of a rolling resistance rig, stiffness rig and a chain efficiency rig; to create a ‘Cycling Test Lab’ in collaboration with Silverstone University Technical College. Being a part of this community of cycling specific engineers and the wider community of the Silverstone expertise that's available will enable us to develop future products.
Silverstone itself is known globally as the home of Formula 1 with many teams based in the area. Aston Martin are rapidly building their new facility next door which will provide them with 400,000 square feet of floor space. It’s not just the heavyweights of Formula 1 who choose to be in this location as there are plenty of smaller businesses focused on high performance engineering who we will be able to collaborate with in the future.
The centre has been designed as a multi faceted workspace where we will test bikes, assemble production bikes, design future iterations and collaborate with our neighbours.
The facility is going to be open to the public, where you will be able to meet the team, see the bikes in the flesh and test ride our bikes. We would like to invite you to come and visit this spring so please feel free to reach out to hello@evaribikes.com to arrange an appointment.
